| MEMORY VERSE: Jeremiah 31:3b “I have loved thee with an everlasting love.”
 TEACHER’S OBJECTIVE
 1.	The unsaved child will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour, realizing
                 the
goodness of God in his life.
 2.	That each child will be able to say that truly Jesus loves me.

 CENTRAL TRUTH
God’s love is constant and waiting.
INTRODUCTIONCan you imagine a son who took his father’s car and armed robbers snatched it from him on
the way? He later came to the father and the father celebrated his coming home, when he
ought to arrest him and take him to the prison or deal with him mercilessly.
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS1.	A wealthy man had two sons; the younger demanded his inheritance so he could live on
 his own (Luke 15:11; 12).
 2.	The father granted his son’s request and divided the inheritance. (Luke 15:12).
 3.	The younger son traveled to a far country and wasted his money. (Luke 15:13.)
 4.	After the son had spent all he had, a famine spread across the land. (Luke 15:14).
 5.	The only work the Son could find was a job feeding pigs. (Luke 15:15).
 6.	Starving, the son desired to eat the food he was feeding the pigs. (Luke 15:16).
 7.	Suddenly, the Son realized his sin against God and his father and decided to return
home to ask for a position as a hired servant. (Luke 15:17-19).
 8.	While the boy was still a great way off, his father ran to meet him. (Luke 15:20).
 9.	The son confessed his sin and unworthiness to his joyful father. (Luke 15:21).

 CLIMAX
Showing his full acceptance and forgiveness, the Father celebrated the return of his
 much-loved Son (Luke 15:22-24).

 CONCLUSION
The love of the father in our lesson is a picture of God’s love for us. God loves the lost
sinner and He longs for you to turn from your sinful ways, just as this father longed for
the son he loved so much to return to him.
LIFE APPLICATIONWe should rejoice like the angels in heaven when an unbeliever repents and turns to God.
Like the Father in our lesson accepted and forgave his son, we should likewise accept
repentant sinners wholeheartedly and give them the support and encouragement they need to
 grow in Christ.
MESSAGE OF SALVATIONNo matter how big your sins are, if you repent, the Lord Jesus will not cast you away. Why
not repent of your sins and come back to Him (John 6:37).
INVITATIONPerhaps today you realize that you are like the Prodigal son who disregarded his father’s
                 love
and care and decided to go own way. You, too, have gone your own way, doing things that
displease God. But in God’s great kindness, He sent Jesus to take your punishment so you
wouldn’t have to suffer the eternal consequences of your sin. The Bible says that the
goodness of God should lead you to repentance (Romans 2:4): because of His goodness, you
should want to believe on the Lord Jesus as your Savour, God is longing to forgive your sins
and give you everlasting life. Will you believe in Him today? (John 5:24).
